I have always wanted art to be part of my life. Now, in retirement, I can at last follow my dream to create art for others and myself. My artwork captures the awe and intrigue I experience in a moment of time and place.

Using a variety of mediums including watercolor, gouache, acrylics, colored pencils, and soft pastels, I create paintings that reflect my encounters with the world around me.

 

Observing and studying scenes and subjects in depth, creating small tonal sketches, and taking reference photos helps me to understand my vision and ultimately determine compositions that bring the viewer into my experience.

I am deeply grateful for my early exposure to the great masters, which ignited my lifelong passion for the arts, and for the encouragement and inspiration of Maine’s talented and supportive artist community.
