If you are a Maine artisan looking to join a unique community of painters, photographers, woodworkers, ceramic and fiber artists, jewelers, glassmakers, and more River Roads Artisans Gallery invites you to submit your work for consideration to participate in one of our member categories. Categories
Artisans participate in the River Roads Gallery on a dues-paying basis or as consignors. Fees and commissions vary based on whether the artisan also performs volunteer work for the Gallery.
Working Artisan
An artisan who works in the Gallery retail store a minimum number of days per month or provides essential services to the Cooperative. Dues-paying artisans pay rent, insurance, and a share of operational costs, but qualify for commission-free sales of their work. Working consignors pay commissions of 25% and a share of operational costs.
Non-working Artisan
An artisan who does not perform work at the Gallery's retail store nor provide essential services. Non-working dues-paying artisans are charged 10% commission on sales of their work along with a share of operational costs, rent and insurance. Non-working consignors pay commissions of 35% and a share of operational costs.
