Blackfly Artisans
Ken Raessler
As a "hobbyist” woodworker most of my life, I began turning bowls like many others – in the basement of my home. While maintaining a career and raising a family, designing in wood continued and was often the source of gifts on family occasions.
Today, I have opened a workshop in the center of downtown Skowhegan, a community having strong ties to artists, crafters, and other makers. I use and experiment with a variety of domestic and foreign hardwoods and devote my attention to creating intriguing bowls and one-of-a-kind wooden and acrylic pens.
My next project is to design and produce artisan-style wooden boxes and chests for the purpose holding those special “memories.”
